The last EFC to be opened in the West Khasi Hills Disrict was at Mawshynrut Block. The opening of the EFC was inaugurated by Shri Witting Mawsor, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Mawshynrut Assembly Constituency in the presence of Shri S. Kharlyngdoh, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, DBDU; Shri Shanborlang Warjri, Nodal Officer, BDO; Project Manager, MRDS; Officers from the Line Departments, MBDA interns, Rangbah Shnong of various villages and the general public.
As the Chief Guest, Mr. W. Mawsor articulated the need for such a point of communication between the Government and the village. He said that the EFC would function as an entity of communication between the Government and the village community. He also expressed his thoughts on the IBDLP stating that it was an innovative programme that could ultimately prove to be answer to many of the questions that crop up in any village economy.
