A rapid assessment study covering all major regions of Meghalaya including Khasi, Garo and Jaintia Hills was conducted by the Monitoring and Evaluation unit under MBDA. The objective of the survey was to assess ground realities and validate indicators suggested by IFAD, and to adapt them or identify alternative indicators relevant to the local context. The study will act as a precursor to the upcoming state-wide baseline study. The study used quantitative as well as qualitative approaches including sample surveys, case studies and focus group discussions.
