Success stories- Kong Meralbon Lyngdoh Marbaniang

Kong Meralbon Lyngdoh Marbaniang, a housewife from Nongrim Nongladew wanted to start tailoring as a livelihood activity. She registered in the EFC and was sent for a one month training programme in dressmaking. After the training she started sewing dresses by using her neighbor’s sewing machine since at the time, she could not afford her own. She started receiving many orders from friends and neighbors but the difficulty was she not owning her own machine. In time, she was able to save enough money to purchase a new machine. Now, she has her own tailoring shop located on the roadside of her village which is doing very well.
