Kong Drency Lapang, a resident of Umsning-A is a registered partner of Umsning EFC and had applied for the Women Economic Empowerment through Financial Inclusion (WEEFI) Scheme. The Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank, Umsning funded the money and helped expand her saloon. She has also started a fast food stall which she opens only on Sundays and market days. She presently earns a profit of about Rs 300 per day from the saloon and Rs 200 from her fast food stall.
