Taking a pro-active role in educating people on the need to protect springsheds and water bodies in the area, the Basin Development Unit of South Garo hills conducted a two days training programme on spring protection initiatives at Rongara C&RD Block on the 24th to 25th August, 2016.
This initiative was to sensitize the people to have a better understanding on Water management that includes protection of spring sheds and water bodies as well as to identifying water sources that is present in and around the area.
This training was given by resource person from Basin Development Unit, West Garo Hills,Tura who are master trainers for spring shed management. It was attended by fifty eight participants that include Nokmas, Gram sevak and Gram seveka.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri. I K.Marak, MCS, Block Development Officer, Rongara Block as the Chief Guest
