A one day workshop of IVDPs was held on the 15th November, 2013 in Nongstoin with participation from villages, Manager, Lead Bank, NABARD and Line Department Officers. The objective of the workshop was to present the findings of the IVDPs pertaining to Climatic Change Adaptation Programme (CCAP) in Markasa Cluster. These selected villages include Markasa, Nongkasen, Laitkseh, Mawkaton, Umlipoi, Mawphanlur, Domkseh, Lawdisai, Mawshongkhyndew, Mawsnairieh, Mawliwaikynbat, Wahrinong and Mawkhmahrang. Presentations of the IVDP-village-wise was made by Shri S.G.R Lanong, Project Manager, MRDS and Shri. R. Kharsyntiew, Assistant Project Manager, MRDS, District Management Unit.
Various aspects of the plans were discussed such as livelihood issues, change in climatic conditions, well being status, agricultural-related problems, constraints in obtaining inputs, medicines, insecticides, lack of proper infrastructure like drinking water, toilets, water for irrigation, electricity, water pollution due to coal mining, etc.
At the end of the workshop, the villagers took a resolution to chalk out a Village Level Action Plan indicating the various problems and interventions required from various departments. The Action Plans will be forwarded to the BDU for necessary action.
